“The Power of Your Brain” International Call for Submission 2017
By just one thought, awareness becomes active whether the thought is intentional or not. That is how powerful the human brain that continuously remoulding and organising different thoughts and different experiences in different times thus, enriching the circuits of the brain neurologically. We can remember things, make plans, we have the ability to imagine, we keep envisioning, how we think, what we do, all comes from the greatest computer of the body system called brain.
Human brain has no mechanical moving parts but serves as the motherboard of body system and the seat of thoughts and mind. Though only weighing less than 3 lb., it is the home and storage of of pictures, songs, philosophy, dreams, passion, happiness, sorrow, of memories, of love, of wisdom, the consciousness and awareness of itself. It is the greatest computer ever built, the seat of your mind, the seat of your being. It creates abstract thought, imagination, creativity, emotions, language, solutions and problem. It creates consciousness.
All the body organ that makes us alive is connected to the brain acting as the general commander of the body. The brain does thousands of thoughts and thinking while we breathe, we talk, we work, we crave for food, we exercise, etc. There is a giant super power or called it genius seating behind our brain that direct both the conscious and unconscious mind.
Human brain is also the source of good and bad moral depends on the thoughts we keep in our head. Through the power of the brain, we develop talent and skills, yet, brain can also be damaged having misalignment, disorder and addiction.
Who we are is what we believe which is wired already in our brain. And as the brain continuously collate experiences through different periods and phases of life, our physical body, emotional aspect and intelligence become a work in progress.
Join Hyperkreeytiv for its 2017 International Call for Submission entitled “The Power of Your Brain.” Submission in the form of cartoon, drawing or caricature.
How to Submit:
Participants can submit maximum of 3 entries.
Submit your work by sending your entries to hyperkreeytiv@gmail.com
Images must be less than 500kb JPEG file in the following format: surname_entry #_country
Submit a short intro about yourself (not more than 200 words) and a photo or caricature not more than 200kb.
Participants can submit entries until July 17, 2017.
All works will be posted on July 27, 2017.

Cancellation of the First Prize in HumoDEVA / Romania 2017
Dear Artist,
A few days ago, with quite delay, Louis Pol sent to us the drawing you can find below, that was published in the Belgrad 2016 catalog (Zoo), at page 99.
The drawing has a striking resemblance to the drawing below, that we prized at the contest.
We don't accuse Rodrigo da Silveira of plagiarism or something like that, might be a simple coincidence of ideas. But the drawing made by Rodrigo lost its originality, an important quality for a cartoon that's to win a contest.
As a follow up, with regret, having to consider all this, we decided to cancel this First Prize ex aequo awarded at HumoDEVA 2017, Romania contest.

Terms of participation:
- Maximum number of submitted works:5
- The submitted works should be in jpeg format ( DPI=300)
- The minimum & maximum sizes of submitted works should be A4 & A3, respectively.
- There is no limitation on the technique used in cartoons.
- The filled form of photo and a brief biography of the artist should be attached.
- All rights of printing & exhibiting the submitted works are reserved for the secretariat of the festival.
- A catalog of the festival will be presented to all participants whose works are printed.

- 1’st winner:€3000 plus statue of the festival
- 2’nd winner :€2000 plus statue of the festival

37th INTERNATIONAL NASREDDIN HODJA CARTOON CONTEST/Turkey 2017
The Competition is open to caricaturists from all ower the world. Caricaturists can send their published or unpublished works of art to the Competition.
Yet the caricatures must not be awarded by another Competition.
The subject of the Competition is free.
The caricaturists can participate at the Competition with three caricatures. The dimensions of caricatures shall not be bigger than 30x40 cm. The caricatures shall unconditionally be original. The caricaturists have to write in capital letters their names and surnames, address, telephone number and their countries on the back of their works of art. And their CV’s (curriculum vitae) have to be added to their caricatures.
The caricatures shall be delivered to the given address at the latest 14 July 2017.
The results shall be announced on 26 July 2017.
All caricatures send to the Contest shall be kept at İstanbul Centre of Caricature and Humour by the Association of Caricaturists. The jury will choose the caricatures which will be included in the Album and the caricatures which will be exhibited. Then the Album of the Competition will be published. The Album of the Competition will be send to the caricaturists of whom works of art exhibited and included in the Album. The caricaturists participated at the Competition shall be regarded as accepted all the conditions of the Competition.

Grand Prize: 5000$
Honour Prizes (5): 1000$
Special Prizes: Special Prizes offered by various establishments, associations, newspapers, art magazines, syndicates and agencies.
